as much as I don't want to obtrude myself at somebody's sales/camp site. I just don't feel right about it.

No worries Peter, Phil is taking full advantage of his space this year and we'll be mooching elsewhere.  Grin Grin Grin

Yup, what Jason said is all I know too. Jay hasn't replied yet but we're planning to be at the Mass Pike rest area just west of 495 at or hopefully before 7am to top off/get rid of some coffee/or grab a snack. Anyone who'd like can join us there.  Packing light is good Jason, you can always improvise or borrow whatever you decide you need last minute... in a pinch a small blue tarp and some bunjees can keep you dry-ish overnight, and some tools, fuses and bulbs may save the day.

I did it last year without any actual luggage and no rack, I'll pack lighter this year and it should be even easier.
I'll try to get some pics of the rack i have to you, dunno if it can fit a 750 but its yours if you'd like it. I'll bring it to the next beer night  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I had 3 vehicles listed with 2 transponders from last june until just the other day so it may not be a factor. i think i remember there being a replenishment amount to choose...maybe yours just needs tweaking? I called at about 6pm yesterday (friday) and was immediately connected with an actual human being with a functioning brain, she sounded kinda hot and young too actually. I'll see if i can find the number i dialed and post it here.

if anyones leaving early Saturday morning, that would definitely change my ability to be able to attend. early saturday/returning on sunday works much better for me.

Yep, how about we follow the plan Andy, Peter and I used last year?
I (Andy) was thinking of the Westborough Service Plaza / Rest Area (Mass Pike Westbound) between exits 11A and 11 - this is just after I-495 and so if Alan is coming down -495 then onto Mass Pike this is the closest service station.....from here is 3 hrs to Rhinebeck according to Google Maps.

Google Rhinebeck Vintage Motorcycle Show for admission/camping prices.

Easy pass makes life makes much easier....if you are stopped at the tolls and we are all flying through its  a long way to catch up...no waiting on the highway Wink

http://www.rhinebecknationalmeet.com/camping.html  I have questions for Phil and Andy, PM's sent.
http://www.rhinebecknationalmeet.com/gatefees.html scroll to the bottom, i guess its $25 whether 2 days or 3.....
http://www.massdot.state.ma.us/highway/fastlane/main.aspx  you should be able to sign up on-line and receive your transponders in 4 days or so.

ill have to get on that easy pass junk. no tent for me...if i end up needing one ill snag one. how much is it to camp/admission??

Alan...im out of work by 3 pm Friday...i could maybe go in earlier if needed to get out earlier if you wanted to head up Friday...if not early Saturday works fine for me.

Jason early Saturday is just fine by me, not sure what else i may have scheduled Friday night.  How's 7 am at the Westborough Service Plaza?  Is your bud with the LS650 Bobber still with us?
Jay how will this work for you?

We'll need to make sure to exchange cell numbers and and such...

I have a rack i got from Phil last june at Rhinebeck, not sure if it'd fit a 750 though.  Phil do you remember this one?

Really? I've had two since last june and they only ever hit me for $35 once in a while (since i rarely use it) They deactivated the missing transponder by serial number and removed it from my account. The new external one will just replace that one on the account (or so the voice on the phone said) and all will resume seamlessly. I only have $6 or so on the account now so we'll see soon enough i guess.  Thanks for the heads up though Chris, I wouldn't want to be surprised by that one.

I just updated my Fastlane/Easypass account info, since my former female associate had thrown away the transponder from her car i needed a new one to take on the bike, an externally mounted transponder is available free of charge it turns out and since you can have up to 4 transponders on your account maybe some of us could benefit from one.

These are the type of transponder usually mounted above a car's licence plate, they can easily be zip tied to the lower triple tree and should work well.
they look like this:

I'll ride with you, but its a long ride for the after 5 croud. whats more is they don't let anyone into the fairgrounds after a certain hour without a hand stamp or something (if memory serves) maybe early saturday morning would be best? Are you picking up a tent?

Would a higher gear be more productive? could always thread a stop into a sparkplug hole as if degreeing your cam.
