+1, I've bought from them as well, they're a good resource. Did you go to Calif yet? How was it??

Went to Cali and Vegas from Jan.15 to Jan. 22.  The wife and I had a great time and it was real fun watching the football games in Vegas.  The Harley rental was fun also. Itll make for good conversation the next time all of us meet up for drinks.

Ummm...I offered this to Andy on the sohc4 forum before seeing Scott's interest here. oops... :-[ :-[ :-[ Don't know what to say except... 1. I'm having trouble finding it anyway in all my piles of crap in the shop and... 2. Let the bidding wars begin! ;D

Andy, You are the gentleman I always suspected you to be. Me? I'm the knucklehead that makes offers and then doesn't check on them before offering again. What say ye Scott? It's yours for $25 if you still want it.

And Andy...don't start that Mickey stuff 'round here.  ;) Obviously you talked to people I know at the races who have called me that for years. It was a jokey nickname in a small group at one point that got out of hand, fed by people who refused...yes refused...to introduce me to others with my given name. A nickname was bestowed...a legend grew...I stand here before you now as a man. A man trying to kill a nickname...the legend part I like.  ;D

Mike...aka Mickey...aka Mick...aka The Mickster...aka Mickey Dude...aka Mikey There are even those that call me Michael...

Go dog, go!
All best to you and Mr. Krause, the man with no first name. BTW, my dad had no middle name, and ended up having it legally changed to Hennessey after the cheap whiskey he likes. In summary, there's no accounting for how people feel about their names. You could try the Prince thing and change it to the artist formerly known as Mike or how about 750F Krause, we could always refer to you as "that guy who's short a bit of a liter", and call you CB. You could dye your hair and we could call you "Red", but then we'd be getting you mixed up with Chris. I'd suggest you use my name, but realize that it may get you more trouble than it's worth. Whenever possible, I've always used psuedonyms, John Yossarian being one of my favorites.
OK, I'm done, someone else take over!
regards,
Ben Dover

Does this mean we should start calling Chris, "Red" and Scott "Dog" and Mike "No Name" and Ben "Yossi" (after "Yossirian")

If this was the case we would sound like a bunch of rednecks....."hey Dog, yu seen Red today?", "No siree-Bob, hes likely hanging out with that no-good no-name feller", "whos dat, den, that Yossi feller?"

When I used to work at bike shops in the '70's, I was called "Boogie". I liked to think it was either because I liked to ride real fast, or that I played guitar, but the real reason was probably due to nasal congestion.

I had a friend back then, Tabby Crabb, who played in Mickey Gilly's band, and called me "Pigeye". If we're going to use tough biker nicknames, I'd rather use that. The big question is what are we supposed to call you. Andy doesn't cut and neither does Laddie, so what it is??

Howabout "Spicy McHaggis" for our Scottish friend?
-Mike, I feel your pain, I've been trying to unload a nickname for 35 years, however, "Boomer" does seem to work for me when I lace up the skates.

Dick Hertz? Nice potty mouth for a "Global Moderator"! Yo Mod! Can you do anything about the "roll eyes" emoticon? The eyes roll when writing a post but when it's posted they fall off. It's ruining my emotions. AND...Just how did you attain this lofty position of GM? Heavy lobbying? Back room payoff? Do you have dirt on Scott? Is that it? C'mon spill it. It's safe to talk here...it's a private forum, right?

Chris...Is/Was it Boomer or The Boomer?  ;D I think I'd prefer "Kilty McHaggis" over "Spicey McHaggis". There's always "Haggis McHaggis" a Ren and Stimpy character...or perhaps "McHaggis the Kilt Boy".  ;D ;D

What's this now?!?!? Andy's a GM too? What kinda racket is this forum anywho? No need to worry Andy. As most women I've dated will attest, my emotions are buried deep within my German/Irish/English/Lithuanian man soul.  ;D ;D ;D In fact I can make most of Clint's characters appear to be down right gushing with emotion.  :'(

I'm off to start a new job tomorrow. I've been recruited by Hollywood to work on a movie set. It's 5/6 days a week 10/12 hours a day for me for the next few months so I may not be around the forums very often. Big change of lifestyle for me...Sammy too. He's off to doggy daycare as no dogs are allowed on this job. To add further change to my life and to complicate things my landlady informed me on Fri. that she's not renewing my lease in order to sell the condo I'm in. So, I need to find a new place and move by mid May WHILE working those crazy hours. Thanks a lot you toad. >:( >:( >:( My plan had been to find a better shop space when the movie was over but I guess that will be on hold now. Thanks again...toad.  :D

My sign in name at the chiropractor...Mya Bachhurtz.

My personal vote is for Kilt Boy, just so long as it has nothing to do with D. Boone kilt a bar under this tree, and that ilk. FYI, I'm not a mod, I'm a rocker, and my position on this board is simply a sign of the respect that I truly deserve, not that you should take the converse inference personally, newbie!

P.S. Thanks for the shot of the Boomer card, very cool. What year, 1966?

So are you going to Calif., or is the job here? Maybe now's a good time to move back towards Boston so we don't have to drive so far to drink with you. Hope Sammy makes some new friends with cute female owners,

The "Boomer" is 1966 I believe and I'm glad for you Ben and your newly found respect. Rodney would be happy for you too as would his doctor, Dr. Vinnie Boombatz.

The job is here fortunately and reasonably close...Burlington. Sammy will be getting one on one care with a neighbor so much to my chagrin there won't be any cute female owners. Besides, I think I've already found a cute female owner. ;)

How many posts do I need to no longer be a newbie and therefore gather at least a modicum of respect from the fine fellows on this forum? I will not tolerate snide remarks tossed in my general directions...farts either. Is there need for a shameless boost post? :o

-I can't take credit for "Spicy McHaggis", it's name of a song by the Dropkick Murphys. (Spicy McHaggis Jig)
-There's no "The" in relation to my Boomer nickname, although I always prefer a hockey jersey with #5 on it, but the people who pick up on that are growing fewer by the year.
-Mike, you'll always be a newbie until you gain favor with the Global Moderators, so start the beer and bribes a-flowin'
-If I can direct everyone's attention to the calendar section of this forum, you'll notice a very important anniversary coming up on March 7th, which I hope everyone celebrates with the respect it deserves.
Later,
Chris

"I went to my doctor the other day. You know my doctor don't yah? Dr. Vinnie Boombatz? I said I don't know what's wrong with me. I got up this morning looked in the mirror and wanted to throw up. My doc, he says, I don't know what's wrong with you, but your eyesight's perfect! So I says I want a second opinion! He says, OK, you're ugly, too!"

I wish Dr Vinnie had done a better job for RD!

How can you hate a guy with lines like:

I'm trying a new diet now. The diet is Viagra and prune juice. I tell ya, I don't know if I'm coming or going.
Last week I told my psychiatrist, "I keep thinking about suicide." He told me from now on I have to pay in advance.
Here's one for Sammy:
My dog needed training, so I brought him into the bedroom at night. From me he learned how to beg. My wife taught him how to roll over and play dead

Beverly is a good midway point to meet for our March meeting. Maybe we could meet on the 6th and toast Mr. Puck?

This has always been one of my favorites...."I'm tellin' you its been a rough day. I got up this morning...I put my put shirt on and a button fell off. I picked up my briefcase and the handle came off. I'm afraid to take a leak!" I'm pretty sure I saw him tell this on Carson late one night. It had Carson just about falling out of his chair with tears running down his cheeks he was laughing so hard. The thing about Rodney...it wasn't just the lines. It was his delivery and his appearance. Nobody else could have delivered his lines like he did. In this instance he was sitting down talking to Carson and just started telling the joke as a part of conversation. And then there's the heyday of the Tonight show...at the top of his game nobody could match Johnny Carson and the people he brought on. I remember Buddy Hackett telling a joke about Sumo wrestlers one night. Possibly the best delivery of any joke I've ever seen and heard delivered. Unfortunately I can't remember nearly enough of it to tell it and my numerous searches for it have come up short.

I'm up for toasting Mr. Puck...let's figure out where.
