Thanks to everyone for the responses.
What should i budget for basic insurance..my auto insurance gives our policy the maximum discount, because my wife and i have flawless dring records(no surcharges within at least the last 12 years).

I think mine was around $100 a year from progressive.  If covers the other car in case of an accident, but not much for the bike itself.

Mine is $600/year with the minimums to get it on the road! Combined with the second bike, we are roughly $1000/yr. That's with a clean record, no accidents, and 5+years with the same company.  :'(
