Hi to all,

I want to firm up the reservations for the motel on Sept 6 and 7th eves at the Windsor, as I'm running out of time to change reservations.
Can we confirm that Andy is taking one of the 4 rooms, Treeve and Alex are taking another, and Peter, myself and my friend Steve are somehow divvying up the last 2 rooms?

Anybody else interested in seeing these old girls( the bikes, not the riders) off on their cross country trip?

Thanks for your replies!

How should we get money to you? PayPal? Cash when we see each other? I am here tomorrow and Tuesday and then I am gone till the 3rd.

I think you will be able to pay for your rooms there. If not, check or cash.

Wow, $9k entrance fee, I wonder what our compatriots and their ancient steeds have to pay to enter?

I don't think that money is an issue for these folks.

I mean, look at this poor Mr. Campbell. He began this year’s tour in a bright red 1953 Alfa Romeo coupe; when the Alfa developed starter problems, he continued in his Austin-Healey 100 roadster. What an unfortunate event.  :Smiley

Anybody but me get the Velocity Channel and watch Chasing Classic Cars? If not, see if you can track down some episodes on youtube or something. Talk about million dollar rides? He's had several. And right in our backyard.

Hi all,

Here's a link to a route for getting to our destination. I know the MA part of the route pretty well, and much of the CT route is very similar to our fall ride.

http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Needham,+MA&daddr=42.2535814,-71.257374+to:42.2529807,-71.2513973+to:42.2460769,-71.293292+to:42.227431,-71.347957+to:Holliston,+MA+to:42.2039573,-71.4513891+to:42.182268,-71.5274582+to:42.1544,-71.66135+to:Central+Turnpike,+Oxford,+MA+to:Dudley,+MA+to:Route+190,+Somers,+CT+to:Granby,+CT+to:Litchfield,+CT+to:Wappingers+Falls,+NY+to:41.5198507,-73.9956741+to:41.498567,-74.0071145+to:41.46805,-74.01815+to:Windsor+Motel,+New+Windsor,+NY&hl=en&ll=41.462476,-74.014721&spn=0.037692,0.077162&sll=41.476753,-74.011459&sspn=0.037684,0.077162&geocode=FfwmhQId4_LA-ykHuFmUC4HjiTHmoelWSxGPUg%3BFQ29hAId4rLA-ylJVVY77YDjiTHPJ7KRQhJVxQ%3BFbS6hAIdO8rA-ylJVVY77YDjiTHOJ7KRQhJVxQ%3BFbyfhAIdlCbA-yndFWOjU4fjiTG2UD3ys1sthg%3BFedWhAIdC1G_-ykhzTFkXXjkiTG8nmSTAPYaDg%3BFcDrgwIdGCS--yl1EjMF0HbkiTGnXD-J-2yk8g%3BFTX7gwIdA729-ymhFCUwx3bkiTHWeJBnvAh7PA%3BFXymgwId3pO8-ylHH2G6C3PkiTG3UDpTRtiO6Q%3BFaA5gwId2oi6-yk_wXzs-w3kiTFSyIVxKoIWBg%3BFU-_ggIdpK-4-ylHlzwuZRDkiTG4n0Vwl_2Hwg%3BFUiOgQIdRG22-ynJCvCEwh_kiTEYzlm8Qw2OSQ%3BFWSjgAId0H6u-ykfR1OelO3miTGaz66Fq8cLtg%3BFQ0rgAId3lSp-ynv69pgRgTniTHGQJ7F7S1uaw%3BFUADfQIdlDqj-ym1GWsWmJbniTFIGiGdazlHKA%3BFUK2egIdRjWY-ynJVcrdmTndiTHCecUSEh6Ajw%3BFeqKeQIdZuqW-ynZmDf9mDHdiTEa9Nn__xRQPA%3BFcc3eQIdtr2W-ymz085WHzLdiTHqz91hs3flxg%3BFZLAeAIdmpKW-ykvVse1YjLdiTERskYKaNWt4g%3BFZ65eAIdp4-W-yEm8r8l6aYg3ymFdODlhzLdiTEm8r8l6aYg3w&oq=Windsor+mot&t=h&dirflg=ht&mra=dpe&mrsp=17&sz=14&via=1,2,3,4,6,7,8,15,16,17&z=14

The good thing about the MA into CT part, is that we can jump on 84 there if we have to. This brings me to the question of riding on highways, everybody OK with that? I'm a back road guy by choice, and  a highway rider only by necessity, but I'll probably be taking some sort of faster road to get home.

I'm hoping to leave my place early(7-8ish) on Thursday, Sept 6th and make a nice morning and part of an afternoon getting to Newburgh to check out Motorcyclopedia, probably after checking into the Windsor. My friend Steve will be along with me as well as whoever else wants to make the dawn patrol.
I'm hoping Andy is back from Germany, but if not perhaps he can contact Bethanie, and we'll meet at the Starbucks in Enfield CT again.
Otherwise, I have her email and I'll contact her.
That's what I have so far, hope this is good for all of us. Please post with any alternative ideas/plans.
Thanks!
Ben
