The Annual New England Guys Fall Ride 2013

(1/12) > >>

andy750:
When: Sunday 20th October 2013.

What time: starting at 8.30am sharp.

Where does it start from: Andys house and then picking up riders along the route

What is the route: something like this ending up at Gillette Castle and then lunch here - take the ferry (I believe it runs until Nov 1) across to the west side of the river and have lunch at the Pattaconk 1850 Bar & Grill in Chester   http://pattaconk1850.com/

Ref: Peter in Roslindale:

If we take back roads both way it looks like around 7 hours on the saddle. With couple of mid brakes and a lunch brake, we are looking at 9 hour day. This is perfectly fine with me, but I just want to make sure that it's okay with everyone else. Although, as Andy said, those in a hurry can take the highway back.
I think we should be on the road with full tanks and tummies at 8:30 the latest, so we can make it home before it gets dark and cold.

GPS file: Peter if you have this as a GPS file (Garmin .GPX file format) can you please send to anyone who wants it (like me) - this was we all have it on our Garmins. Thanks.

Weather forecast: Sunny, 61F (so far looks good).

Hope to see you all Sunday bikes ready to go :). If you want to meet along the route post in this thread location and approx. time. All welcome!

cheers
Andy

cabrala:
I'll see you at your house Andy. Hopefully with a bike that is running well. ;D

Connito:
Great, Andy! I will be at your place at 8:30.

Please see if the attached file would work on your gps. I will check if it works on mine tonight.

Cheers,
Peter

andy750:
Thanks for the gpx file Peter and while I can open it with Tyre somehow the file is composed of 2200 waypoints making it very slow to open. How did you generate the file?

Ill reformat it this evening so it has less waypoints.

cheers
Andy

Connito:
Here is a better version with WAAAAAY less waypoints.

Cheers,
Peter
