Nice, neat job. You've done a great job of saving that bike!

As you all know I've been riding a mostly push start bike all season, 3 of you have seen it and helped push, one of you taught me how to push start a bike early on in the season. Well hopefully those days are past for a while. I've just swapped out in favor of the starter from one of my spare engines. (second spare is kick only, no hole for starter even) I'd have done it sooner but last time I hooked up a battery and tried to crank that engine for a compression test there was smoke from the starter... resulting in a zero confidence factor. This afternoon I had a few minutes and a 10mm wrench so I gave it a shot, remember this was the original 99 cent engine from EBay that started this thread. With the bike on its center stand it leaks no oil with starter removed vs. last time I had it out with the bike on the sidestand, oops...some fresh oil added that day at least... Undecided

Turn the petcock, click into neutral and thumb the button....Ah, the best 99 cents I've spent on this bike all season.
See you Saturday, I'll hopefully be the one not push-starting the CM400... Cool

Great news Alan!
Hopefully you wouldn't ever have to use that knowledge of how to push start a vehicle:-)

See you tomorrow!
