Left on Saturday morning and headed up I-93 whizzing through the tolls with our fastlane transponder. We took the Ashland exit and toured the Squam Lake road - no traffic - very nice! Lots of bikes were out of course.

We found a great little B&B just north of North Conway - the Wildflower - with a great deck and nice views of Mt Washington. Just along the road was the start of the famed road - Hurricane Mountain Road:

What fun! We were both laughing the whole way across. It has some serious tight turns with big dips and small bumps that will make you airborne. The camber is sometimes off which means you have to very careful. Later on that day after coming back from Whitehorse Press (WHP) we came back the same way and actually got airborne (both wheels!) -scary indeed! The guy at WHP gave us a good road tip  Old Cherry Mountain Road that goes across Cherry Mountain next to Bretton Woods (see G on the map below) - this is all dirt/gravel road and we did this on the Sunday after hiking up Mt Kearsage (this was tough due to too many local brew beers the night before!)- the Cherry Mountain road is also a lot of fun (steep going up!) and Rt 115 going south to come back to I-93 is excellent with long sweepers and great panorama views. Coming back Sunday we took Rt 3 for way too long and then jumped back on I-93 to be home for 6.30pm...around 420 miles for the weekend. Great weather!

Here is the route....
